Last year, I posted some Vintage Holiday Gift Ideas featuring old commercials with creepy toys. If you're out of ideas for this year, here's a handy shopping guide to comb the antique stores:
Now with more soul!
Can you imagine when this was state of the art? Though I will admit to saving up quite a bit of my allowance for one of those barking St. Bernard's as a kid; compared to this toy, it was worth every penny.
This is a campaign for the Ding-A-Lings toys launch. Really? You open with volcanoes and futuristic "city" shots and then name them something like Ding-A-Lings? And to make it worse, one toy "flashes" a camera, and another one encourages insertion of a brain where a thermometer sometimes goes:
I love how the kids smile through the terrible whiplash pain of playing with their Swing Ding:
And now a special bonus creepy video:
It seems Jenny Greenteeth discovered the powers of Prell. I guess they cut the camera before they continued with "Come lay your bones on the alabaster stones and be my everloving baby".
Anybody remember playing with any of these toys?
